Around the contortion
Classes and Workshops
Since 2023, the AMA Company has offered two annual sessions dedicated to the transmission of contortion . These courses and workshops are designed to offer both a technical and artistic approach and a reflection on contortion, the company's primary artistic language.
Whether it's working on your flexibility or exploring contorted movements in creative research , we are committed to sharing our know-how with all audiences, amateurs and professionals alike.
AND WHY DOES THIS MATTER TO US?
Well, contortion is at the heart of our artistic approach .
For us, it is much more than a physical performance: it is a body language that allows us to tell stories , to transmit emotions , sensations, and to explore the limits of the body .
For us, sharing this discipline with others, whether amateurs or professionals, is a way of making it evolve , of nourishing this living art through rich and diverse exchanges.
Each participant, with their experiences and sensibilities, contributes to this evolution. It is in these meetings that new ideas emerge , new forms come to life.
Passing on contortion means giving it continuity, while enriching it with new visions and techniques, which is why it is so important to us!
PEDAGOGY
Elodie Guezou - Trainer
Élodie Guézou, contortionist and artistic director of the AMA Company, passionately transmits the art of contortion.
Trained in Chinese contortion by Yaqin Deng , she acquired a demanding discipline, focused on the precision of postures and in-depth mastery of the body.
At the same time, her yoga training with Bernadette de Gasquet allowed her to develop a respectful approach to alignment and protection of the body, combining flexibility and physical well-being.
Her career has led her to work with many directors and choreographers in circus, theater and contemporary dance. She has also explored contortion in duo and collective, and today transmits this artistic richness and these collaborative practices in her workshops.
